Following a traumatic event in early childhood, Aharon acquired a
severe speech disorder, and shortly afterward, he was stricken with polio.
Paralyzed and virtually unable to communicate, he was confined
for several years in a sanitorium, far from his home and family. After
intense physical rehabilitation, Aharon Margalit miraculously recovered
and eventually overcame his speech disorder, as well. He established a
beautiful family and built up a successful business. In time, he branched
out to other creative initiatives, including founding the World Chofetz
Chaim Association, and organizing projects aimed at promoting the
observance of mitzvos sh’bein adam l’chaveiro as well.
At the height of his success, Aharon was diagnosed by a world-renowned
professor with a malignant tumor – and given only six weeks to
live. But he refused to give in to the dire predictions, and decided that
as long as he lived, he would fight. He fought – and he lived. When the
cancer returned a second, and even a third time, he never surrendered,
